10-Hour OSHA General Industry
DESCRIPTION
The 10-hour General Industry Outreach Training Program is intended to provide training to workers in non-construction related industries with a basic introduction to safety. Training content will emphasize hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, not OSHA standards.
TOPICS INCLUDE
- Introduction to OSHA.
- Safety and health programs.
- Walking and working surfaces, including fall protection.
- Egress, evacuation, fire prevention and protection.
- Electrical, lockout/tagout.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Material handling.
- Hazard communication.
- Hazardous materials (flammable and combustible liquids, compressed gases).
- Permit-required confined spaces.
- Machine guarding.
- Welding, cutting, and brazing.
- Introduction to industrial hygiene.
- Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Ergonomics.
- Powered industrial vehicles.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards. Students will receive a certificate of class completion and an OSHA training card within 4-6 weeks.
