October 28, 2026: 4-Hour Fall Prevention (Day 1 of the Worker Refresher), running with the morning portion of the 8-hour class. October 31, 2026: 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User and Refresher (Day 2 of the Worker Refresher). Each session includes a 15-minute break; total instruction is 8 hours.

8-Hour SST Worker Refresher in Queens

DESCRIPTION

Plan your worker SST renewal training in Long Island City, Queens. Our 8-hour refresher includes 4-hour Fall Prevention and 4-hour Supported Scaffold, scheduled as two separate sessions. Check the calendar for both sessions and confirm your card expiration date before registering. Supervisors can compare the 16-hour SST supervisor refresher.

OBJECTIVES

  • Identify the types, nomenclature and definitions of a scaffold.
  • List and identity the different types of fall protection needed when working on a scaffold.
  • Recognize the permit requirements needed in order to comply with Chapter 33 of the Building Code.
  • Describe and identify common supported scaffold hazards.
  • Classify the Federal and NYC scaffold regulations.
  • Apply safe work practices at their construction sites based on prudent decision- making.
  • Understand Local Law 196
  • Be generally familiar with terms associated with falls in construction.
  • Recognize, avoid and prevent fall hazards.
  • Be aware of regulatory safety requirements associated with falls, including OSHA’s Subpart M.
  • Learn how to make informed decisions when working at heights.
COURSE MATERIALS

This course consists of several different components which include power point presentations, lectures, real life case studies, class discussions and hands-on demonstrations.

PREREQUISITES

Must have a valid Site Safety Training (SST)card in compliance with Local Law 196 and the NYC Building Code.
